Event Description:

The UCCE Master Gardener Program of San Diego County is seeking adults who are enthusiastic about volunteerism, interested in gardening, and value lifelong learning.
Please come to our Information Orientation on Wednesday, September 13 to learn more about this program. Applications are due on October 2, 2017.

If you're up for the challenge and you'd like to join us, the UCCE is a fun and diverse group, and they come from all parts of the county.  In order to strengthen the program and better serve our community, this year they are particularly seeking more applicants who can serve the coastal South County and inland North County populations. Also, they encourage bilingual applicants, especially those who speak Spanish.

Master Gardeners in Training embark on a 64-hour program of 18 classes over a six-month period beginning in January 2018. After graduation, each new MG must volunteer at least 50 hours to public education activities during the first year, helping to educate the public, and answering questions on home gardening and pest management.

After the first year, MGs are recertified annually after volunteering 25 hours and taking 12 hours of continuing education.
