RETO: Con su sede central en San Diego, California, Solar Turbines Incorporated, una filial de Caterpillar Inc., fabrica turbinas de gas industriales para la generación de energía eléctrica, compresión de gas y sistemas de bombeo. San Diego County Water Authority’s Kearny Mesa Headquarters
CHALLENGE: In 2006, we realized our headquarter’s landscape wasn’t as attractive as it could be. The maintenance was a significant drain on our facilities staff. More importantly, it was using more water than necessary. The original trees didn’t produce the shade that helps eliminate evaporation. And the expanse of sod in the back was clearly a water guzzler.
Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens
CHALLENGE: Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens, a popular craft brewery and restaurant, is located in North San Diego County. Greg Koch, Stone Brewing Co. CEO and founder, wanted to create an eclectic setting that would be unique, organic, and versatile. The one-acre site was challenging because it is located within a detention basin that accepts stormwater from the surrounding commercial/industrial park.
